i'm a proud negeri9 chic. although i won't recommend people to come visit the state cuz there's nothing much interesting except the PD beach... i have to admit that seremban is one best place to live. well, this entry is not to promote the state but what i would like to share is our trademark dish: masak lemak cili api.
people usually relate me to the dish once they got to know where i came from. not so many people know that the dish is actually one of the easiest to cook. when you need a gravy dish, this is one dish you can consider cuz it can goes with any ingredients.
for an original negeri9 style masak lemak cili api, all you need are:
1. main ingredients (meat, chicken, fish, prawn... jez name it) 2. turmeric (not the powder one please) 3. chilli padi 4. coconut milk 5. salt
steps: 1. prepare the main ingredients 2. crush turmeric fruit and chili padi with mortar and pestle until they are well-mixed 3. put the main ingredients into a saucepan with the crushed turmeric & chili 4. pour coconut milk into the saucepan - *need to add some water if u're using boxed coco milk 5. put them to boil, stir occasionally 6. put in some salt 7. it's done when the ingredients are all cooked (approximately after 20mins)
see... it's so easy isn't it? i don't fix any amount for the ingredients cuz u can adjust them accordingly. one main point u need to remember to get a good masak lemak cili api is to ensure the gravy has enough turmeric and coconut milk. the colour should be dark yellow. if its too milky it means not enough turmeric, or if it's too thin it means not enough coconut milk. usually cooking for 4 people will require not less than 2 thumb size turmeric fruit and 1 coconut milk / not less than half box of boxed coco milk.
now i would like to suggest some famous combination of the main ingredients for u to try:
1. smoked beef (daging salai) + belimbing buluh, bacang or mempelam muda - *the best combination everrrr 2. chicken / beef + potato - *with this one it would be a lot tastier if you also put half crushed lemongrass 3. prawn / salted fish (kurau or sepat) + pineapple or nangka muda 4. tenggiri + tempe
u can still cook it with only one main ingredient. other than chicken, beef, or fish try crabs, duck eggs, canned sardines, mushrooms and what ever u wish to explore.
above is a pic of nangka muda masak lemak cili api that i cooked last tuesday. i only cooked it with anchovies... simple yet tasty. tips: to cook nangka muda, u have to boil it first and toss the water away to remove the rubber. then, cook the gravy and later put in the nangka.

:: MY 8 MOST WORN THINGS ::
1. MOST WORN Lipstick/ Lipgloss
Telling you the truth, I would choose a light textured lipstick cuz I highly believe such lippie doesn't darken the lips. My most worn lipstick is definitely Maybelline Moisture Extreme #905 in Pink Bloom. Love the colour and so far, I've worn 3 tubes of 'em. However, since last May I've put aside my Maybelline and use Farmasi True Color #316 almost everyday. It was bought by accident cuz a friend of mine who worked for the company opened a promotion booth at my office. The colour is also pinky and with MAC Lustreglass in Pinkarat on top, I'm off with a pouty look. Whatever I wear, there's something else that top the most worn item for my lips and that is the Apple Lip Ice. I've worn Lip Ice since my days in univ and it never fails to provide moisture to my lips.
2. MOST WORN Earrings/ Necklace
Currently I haven't worn any earrings or necklace since few years back. I stop wearing earrings to avoid scratches on my mobile and I stop wearing the gold necklace I had when I was a kid cuz few years back I love wearing different kind of necklaces to office. Yet, if I really need to answer this question it would still be the gold necklace with the alphabet "H" as pendant. Or if I may substitute it to other jewelries, it would be my silver anklet which never leaves my right ankle since 6 or 7 years back.
3. MOST WORN Shirt/ Top
This is the hardest to answer cuz I wear my clothes in turns. If possible, I would not wear the same shirt or top within a month. Previously I had my own shirt system with numberings and the cycle for each shirt was not less than 2 months. Yet still, maybe the one that can be qualified for this is the black baby-tee I usually wear to bed � Too Phat's tee with "Mental Advisory Hypnotic Content" on the front of it. I got this tee when I did my internship with EMI Music in 2002 and it still remains in my closet till today. (Just got it washed this afternoon.)
4. MOST WORN Nail Polish (changed to Watch)
Since I'm a Muslim, I don't wear nail polish. Ex-roomie changed it to her wrist watch and so do I. The most worn watch is no other than my Guess Waterpro with dark blue face and steel straps. It is the first item bought using scholarship allowance received during my under graduate study. Although I have started collecting a number of designer watches, the Waterpro is still my preference for everyday use cuz it is sturdy.
5. MOST WORN Shoes
Although I love wearing ballet flats and sneakers, the most worn shoes is definitely the Black Satin Gold Lining Peep Toe Vincci with Bow at the side. It is the most comfortable 3-inch heels and I also have it in Brown too. It doesn't kill my legs and I have received a lot of compliments because of its look. Sad to say, after a year it's already time for her to see the cobbler cuz the left heel need to be mended. To compete with her, another most worn shoes is my pink Sassari Crocs, which is actually a wedges and usually worn during weekends and even to casual Friday. It is a gift from bee� I've made an entry on it together with some pics but couldn't find it now.
6. MOST WORN Hair Products
This is the easiest one to answer cuz what are normally worn on my hair are only shampoo and conditioner. I'm currently using Clear Cool Anti-dandruff shampoo with Enzo Moose Conditioner. I love the cooling sensation the shampoo gives to my scalp. As for the conditioner, it was actually bought with its shampoo and two other products during an unusual trip to a saloon when I also did rebonding to my hair. A pretty impulsive trip actually.
7. MOST WORN Perfume
This is obviously no other than Escada Sentiment. I tested the perfume during a shopping trip in Singapore somewhere in 2001 and felt in love with the smell ever since. I would say it's my trademark scent. It has become a tradition cuz I would buy a bottle of Sentiment on my birthday every year. Although I have also bought other perfume brands, the most frequent brand that I have used is still Escada. Apart from Sentiment, other scents are Magnetic Beat, Incredible Me (currently used) and S (bought during warehouse sale, still in box).
8. MOST WORN Handbag
Those who are close to me know my fetish towards handbags. If possible, I would try to use different handbag every day within a week. I love my LVs but to me, the more expensive the bag is, the less it should be worn to maintain its exclusivity. Thus, the most worn handbag would be my Black Hobo Coach, bought in Hong Kong International Airport in 2006. Most of my handbags are small in size. Even though this bag is still considered small to some peeps, it's large enough to store the necessities including my make-up pouch. I usually bring it to office and also during weekends cuz it fits in any occasion and any clothing. It is the chosen one, the only handbag I brought during a week holiday trip to New Zealand last year � she must feels very special~!

it has been wayyy tooo long since my last update. seriously, i never had the chance to update this blog due to my hectic life these days. i really wanted to write things on 06.05, when it was exactly a month away from the big day but somehow blogdrive didn't allow me to do it. dunno why, but the server is so slow and needs me to wait for a bit too long. i haven't log in for quite some time, but previously it wasn't this slow.
anyway, it's only a week to go now. time flies pretty fast huh. to tell u the truth, i'm so tired, both body & soul. there's too much to do between wedding preparations and work! invitations have been sent out... tapi ada yang lambat dihantar sampai rasa malu plak dengan diri sendiri. seriouslylaa i have to accentuate the fact that i don't have enuff time. nak berehat pun tak sempat ni and dun ask about my feeling whether "dah berdebar ke?" or "takut tak?" cuz i dun have time to even feel anything!
ok ok... just for acknowledgement, we're done with the door gifts except masukkan sweets and ikat tags on them. wedding dresses are all checked except tudung and veil for his side. i really love the veil for my side's reception. luckily i have a colleague who's really good at sewing and i owe her a lot cuz it's so gorgeous. lepas ni dah bleh bukak butik pengantin ni utk sewa kan kat orang... hehehe. next, the hantaran is all prepared except some touch-ups here and there. this time, sera has willing to sponsor the lovely cuppies. thank you babe... remember, i owe u one dinner when u got back here later. i just knew yesterday yang sera nak amik 3 months unpaid leave. i feel sorry for her cuz she can't transfer to the new unit, which is closer to me! yerlaa actually dah berangan jugak nak ada kawan lunch cuz after 5 months being here... i usually had my lunch alone. loser kan?
well, apart from those there are still several important items left such as video presentation yang tak wat pape lagik and also programme flow and the emcee script. i'm gonna start my break next tuesday so i can concentrate on them within those few days. gonna wear inai on thursday nite... sape yang rasa nak join merah2 tangan mehla datang.
hrmmm... okla kot. i'll update some more if i have time. well, i'm gonna go spend my evening with both fila and nor. begitu juga esok... fila dah ada tradisi membuat bunga telur utk kawan2 baiknye so i'm gonna pay her a visit. sorry sangat beb tak dapat nak catch-up dengan ko and i'm so touched with your effort. yesterday she told her vow to not going anywhere until my wedding. so i said to her, patutnya pengantin yang berpantang takleh kuar 44 hari untuk naik seri... but since i've spent most of my time out at shopping malls or anywhere to buy things, die la yang berpantangkan on behalf of me. harap seri tu sampai kat aku laa kan beb... ni muka pun dah teruk ni... hehehe.
alrite laa... nak siap-siap ke rumah penjaga kucing ni. havva nice weekend. and oh, it's my last weekend as a single~!!!!! huhuhuhu. omg, i'm getting married???
Today, it is exactly a month to the most important day of my life. A month… phew~! Somebody better comes and reminds me that I only have a month to enjoy my bachelorhood – to sleep and wake up whenever wants, to leave the bedroom in total mess and well, to ask people call me “cik” every time before the title changes to “puan”… huhuhu. Anyway, a lot to be done and it is quite stressful for me to juggle things between work, wedding preparations and filling up the house! Yeah, I know that the furniture can come in later, but I just couldn’t stand living in a house that looks like ‘rumah pekerja kontrak’ especially with newspapers sticking on the sliding door. At last, the house looks decent now… and I have to tell you that I love my kitchen more than my sort-of walk-in wardrobe… can you believe that? Okay, back to wedding preparations. Well, actually I have to go back home now cuz we’re going to Seremban tonite to collect our invitation cards. Despite that, on my side, other things that bother me right now are the extra wedding favours and those for the vips, which are still in progress. I also have to search for shoes and ask my auntie to sew veils that gonna match the 3 wedding dresses.
Sorry peeps, I think I have to go now cuz it’s getting late already… maybe I’ll try to continue tomorrow then.
